a history

The Adelaide Needleworks has been established for over 11 years. The concept was to provide a means by which both experienced and inexperienced sewers could come together and create their wardrobes under the tutelage of others. The learning experience was enhanced through the provision of resources that might not necessarily be available to the home sewer (e.g. large cutting tables, high quality overlockers and sewing machines for those who did not have their own machine).

Helen Sadler, a progressive, vibrant and enthusiastic sewer, with extensive experience in the fabric industry covering some 30 years, purchased the original business in Linden Park.

In June 2004, Helen opened The Needleworks Concept Store, located at 611A Marion Road South Plympton, offering the widest range of fabrics and accessories, including Mokubra trims imported from Japan. The trim range is fabulous and continuously expanding. These trims are designed to give even the simplest garment a designer look! The South Plympton store also has an extensive range of haberdashery and bonding fabrics. The use of quality bonding fabrics on your creations (in particular wool fabrics) is the sure way ensure that the finished product has that professional, designer look. Our range of interfacing is extensive with something for every application.
